I am delighted to resume teaching face to face workshops starting in June in the light and airy room at St John's centre.

The workshops are relaxed and informative where you can learn new techniques and improve your painting skills. I demonstrate the techniques and provide photos, sketches and handouts. A chance to absorb yourself in the beautiful medium of watercolour and meet other watercolour enthusiasts.

Testimonial"With no previous painting experience, I've now done two workshops and they were both wonderful. With a picture always in mind that you are aiming at, you learn about paper and paint, wet on wet, wet on dry, dry on dry, dry on wet, and about gradations from solid-looking to dreamy-looking that give close and distant, and also colours and colour mixing. Then there are other amazing things like masking, granulation use of a small sponge. You alternate between watching a demonstration, and trying it for yourself, so that your picture builds up in stages and you learn so much along the way. At the end of the workshop your blank sheet of paper has been transformed into an actual picture and everyone's final picture is different in such interesting ways. For me, each workshop really was a transformational experience.   Jane Frances 2020.

Testimonials

"I found the advice on use of colours particularly helpful, especially simplifying by working with only three, plus the detail on when to use a dry brush and a wet brush and the effects they create, ie. if the brush is too wet a 'cauliflower' will appear. It was lovely to have a large table with ample space to work and the opportunity to purchase high quality paper. Most of all, during the current Covid situation, it was good to spend time with other people rather than via video call." Helen Starling -October 2020

"A welcoming atmosphere with focus to deliver high end tuition across "Clear" communication interactions specific to each learner. Pre-preparation of information emails, additional supplies and materials offer a great value service of concentrated information delivery within a shorter face to face contact time. Amazing swift feedback with constructive guidances to aid further skill development after my work was submitted at a later time for review!" Flora Brumby -October 2020
