Service Description

Come along for a creative and relaxing day painting a landscape. Create beautiful textures with granulation medium, acrylic inks and liquid charcoal. I will paint a scene and give group and individual demonstrations of the painting techniques. During the demonstrations, I explain my process step-by-step and I will show you various techniques and methods for creating different effects combining different mediums with watercolour. You can see the techniques being used in real-time and ask questions during the demonstration. I will provide some reference photographs but feel free to bring along landscape photos for your inspiration. You will be able to paint using the different methods and I will give individual guidance and encouragement. You will produce a finished painting to take home along with a printed booklet explaining the techniques used during the workshop. All courses are for adults over 18. I will provide acrylic ink, liquid charcoal, powdered charcoal and some practice paper. You will need to bring: 1)Watercolour paint a red, yellow and blue and a small tube of Sodalite Genuine by Daniel Smith, Available from Jacksons Art, Ken Bromley, Tindalls Cambridge. 2)Granulation Medium 3)Arches 140lb/300gsm cotton Rough, or similar rough paper, please don't bring Hot Pressed Smooth paper it's not suitable. 4)A ceramic palette or an old white plate for mixing colours, 5)Your usual brushes 6)Two large jam jars, 7)Paper towel or an old flannel, 8)Masking tape 9)A board to tape your paper to, I will have some boards to borrow, 10) Optional, bring landscape photos for your inspiration. I will have some Arches 140lb rough cotton watercolour paper available to buy for £2.50 per sheet. Please arrive at 9.45am. This will allow you time to familiarise yourself with the amenities. Meet me and your fellow participants and enjoy a coffee or tea or other light refreshments. The workshop will start at 10am and we finish at 4pm. Please bring your own lunch. Costa, Co-op and Tesco are a 5min walk. Free tea, coffee and biscuits (including gluten free) will be available all day. The workshop will be held in the large light and airy Wilkinson room at St John's Church, Hills Road, Cambridge. There is free parking at the rear of the Church. Please ensure that you provide me with full details of any specific requirements that you may have and I will endeavour to accommodate you.


Cancellation Policy

Once you have booked a place it is allocated for the term or one day workshop. You are able to cancel up to one week before the course/workshop starts and I will refund your fee minus a £5 cancelation charge. After that point if you have to cancel I will try to fill your place but if I cannot do so there is no refund.
