Service Description

A relaxing and enjoyable day painting a beautiful selection of fresh seasonal flowers from my good friend's walled garden. I will demonstrate sketching and painting flowers with plenty of time for you to sketch and paint. For those not so keen on sketching there will be the option to trace over sketches of flowers that will be provided. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to practice the painting techniques and use them in a finished painting. We'll be painting in a fairly loose style i.e.not fine detailed botanical work. Step by step written handouts will be available for you to take home. Suitable for beginners, improving beginners and those with painting experience. Materials that you will need to bring: • A large wash brush and a couple of smaller brushes for detail • 2B and 2H pencils and an eraser • 2 large jam jars • A board and masking tape to tape your paper to the board • Arches Rough Paper Min size 11 x 15 inches weight 300gsm/140lb (Availble on the day for £3 per sheet) • Masking Fluid A white ceramic palette or an old white plate for mixing colours. Please bring along any watercolour paints that you already have. The colours I use are: Cadmium yellow pale/light  Winsor red or permanent red Permenant rose, Magenta, Burnt Sienna Ultramarine blue, Winsor blue, Cobalt blue, Winsor green You are welcome to arrive from 9.45am. Demonstrations will start at 10am and we finish at 4pm. Please bring your own lunch. If you need to buy lunch, Costa, Tesco and Sainsbury's are a 5 minute walk away. Free tea, coffee and biscuits (including gluten free) will be available all day. The workshop will be held in the large light and airy Wilkinson room at St John's Church, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8RN. There is free parking at the rear of the Church which is accessible from Blinco Grove. The Church is a 15 minute walk from the Cambridge mainline railway station. Cancelation Policy

Once you have booked a place it is allocated for the term or one day workshop. You are able to cancel up to one week before the course/workshop starts and I will refund your fee. After that point if you have to cancel I will try to fill your place but if I cannot do so there is no refund.
